My goal as an artist is to be able to entertain people of all ages in a way that brings out their own creativity and imagination. Through bizarre, whimsical characters and environments, I want to make people excited about the power of illustration and storytelling. Artists and storytellers such as Don Wood, Jannell Cannon, Shel Silverstein and Charles Chaplin are just a few people who inspired me as a child to create stories of my own through my art. If I can pay this forward in the work I create and inspire others, I feel like I will have truly succeeded as an artist.
A little about me:
Hey there, my name is Sarah Pagliaro. I attended school at the Columbus College of Art and Design with a major in Illustration. I work in a variety of mediums, but my three favorites to work with are Ink, watercolor and digital painting. My art includes character concepts, environment pieces, spot illustrations and comic work. In my free time I enjoy working on my web-comics “Jobo” and “Rizmo.” I also enjoy going on hikes and occasional backpacking trips where I can enjoy nature for long periods of time. Aside from nature, I am very inspired by classic films in both the comedy and horror genre. My favorite come from the silent era where films depended on beautiful cinematography and exaggerated facial expressions. Like illustration, the stories are told through visuals rather than words alone.
